Blog 10: Research Questions for PopCorn Essay
Write a unique research question for the Pop Corn Essay based on your reading of Chapter 10: Global Realization. No repeat questions! Be sure to read the responses that are already posted before you post your question.
Subway: Healthy or Just a Gimmick? 1) Is Subway sandwiches as healthy as advertised? 2) Do gimmicks like celebrity endorsement and the "Fresh Fit" menu effect their customers choices when it comes to their diet as a whole? 3) Is it an ethical issue if Subway's food is not as healthy as advertised? 4) Does Subway endorse unethical practices that Schlosser talked about in his book, Fast Food Nation? (unethical practices like overworked and underpaid employees, using artificial colors and flavors, for example)
Whole Foods Market: Organic and Healthy or Plain, Overpriced Food?
1. Does Whole Foods Market carry truly organic products? 2. Is it unethical for Whole Foods Markets to place their stores in higher income neighborhoods, opposed to everywhere? 3. Does Whole Foods Market focus more on accumulating money or on consumers' health? 4. What celebrities have endorsed Whole Foods Market and why? What does their endorsement of these chains add to the public's perception of this business?
The bond of Fast food culture is getting stronger due to a branch of fast food companies working together through a title known as the "Yum Brand". How are these particular companies (KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Long John Silver's and A&W),connected and what is their purpose as the "Yum Brand"?
Does fast food really have a negative effect on an individual's body if they exercise daily? Does the positive results from exercise cancel out the negative effects of fast food on the body? How intense or rigorous does the exercise have to be?
1) What is subliminal messaging/advertising? How does it work? 2) How often does one see a mini advertisement of a fast food place or product in the media(movies, videos, etc.) 3) Is it on purpose or coincidental? 4) Is it just fastfood places you see in the media, or high end restaurants in on it to? 5) Does it work?
Knowing that the food the fast food industries are producing is bad for our health, why do they tend to target children knowing that are young and naive?
Is fast food any more unhealthy if you wait to eat it after it gets cold than right after it was hot? How long do u have until it is considered spoiled?
